Service Description
Have fun and gain confidence on camera while learning the skills necessary to succeed in auditions and on-screen. Whether just starting out on-camera, or having worked in the industry, this class will help kids grow in a supportive, joyful environment. This 6-week class is all about feeling comfortable and confident in front of the camera! Kids will gain hands-on experience acting in front of the camera and with new friends. With exercises that build student’s on camera skillsets, this class empowers young actors to find their unique voice in the industry in Chicago. Weeks 1 -4: Camera Technique - Become comfortable acting with an ensemble and in front of the camera - Learn the skills to tell a story on screen Weeks 5 & 6: Commercials & Auditions - Learn what to expect in the room, how to slate, and direction in a casting setting - You’ve got the power! Learn how to ask for what you need in an audition setting! All footage is recorded and sent via a secure link to parents to watch playback each week - have fun! Meet the Teacher: Emma Knott is a Chicago-based actor whose recent work includes: - Lead role in Line Cooks Feature Film, a mockumentary style comedy directed by John Mossman - Lead role in Raffle Feature Film, a dark comedy by Martin Kazubowski, dir. of Early Bird on Amazon Prime & Apple TV - Lead role in Cul De Sac Feature film, a dramatic thriller by Ted Barnes, dir. Nick Volkers - Writer, producer, and performer in The Sunshine Bus Improv Comedy at The Annoyance Theatre - Commercial work for various clients including Chicago Cubs, Johnsonville & Home Chef - Leading roles at Equity Theatre Houses including: Wendla (Hearing & Guitarist) in Spring Awakening, Poppy Norton- Taylor in Noises Off, and Ali in MAMMA MIA! Emma has worked with kids for over 10 years, having taught visual and performing arts classes for kids in Mount Prospect, IL at The Studio and Miss Carole’s Stories and Songs Theatre Camp. She has worked as a nanny with Nanny Harmony in Chicago, and as a Substitute Teacher in Chicago Public Schools.
